What age groups does Valeo serve?

Ages 4-23 across multiple programs designed for different developmental stages and competitive levels—from introductory programs to semi-professional pathways.

  • EPDL (Elite Player Development League): Girls & Boys Ages 4-9, Local Competition
  • NECSL (New England Club Soccer League): Girls & Boys Ages 8-18, Local & Regional Competition
  • Northeast Academy League: Boys 10-12, Regional Competition
  • MLS Next: Boys Ages 13-14, Regional & National Competition
  • NPSL (National Premier Soccer League): Men Ages 18-23, National Competition

  • Team Training: Mid-August through mid-June (frequency depends on age group and league)
  • Individual Skill Clinics: Weekday evenings during Fall, Winter, and Spring

  • Summer Camps: 8 consecutive weeks available

Games are played on weekends (Saturday or Sunday), dependent on league and age group:

  • EPDL games: Saturday mornings at Valeo Sports Center
  • NECSL matches: Throughout Massachusetts and neighboring states; home field at Valeo Sports Center
  • MLS Next and NPSL matches: Throughout the northeast; may require overnight travel

Season structure:

  • Fall season: Week after Labor Day through mid-November
  • Spring season: Late March/early April through week before Memorial Day
  • U15-U18: Spring only (training begins late November) due to high school commitments
What tournaments do Valeo teams compete in?

Tournament assignments depend on age, league, and level of play. Most teams participate in tournaments (except youngest EPDL players). Tournaments often occur over holiday weekends: Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Presidents Day, Easter, Memorial Day.

Teams are notified of tournament schedules at season commencement.

Home Location: Valeo Sports Center 125 Wells Ave, Newton, MA

Additional Inner-City Program Locations: Somerville, East Boston, Dorchester

Away games: Played throughout New England

Yes. Because of our generous donors and sponsors, we offer tuition assistance for families who financially qualify. Over 500 players receive some level of financial assistance annually.
