NEWTON, Mass. – Valeo Futbol Club (VFC) is proud to announce our acceptance into the Revolution Development League (RDL). The RDL is an initiative launched by the New England Revolution Academy that brings together seven of the most successful clubs in New England in a league designed to deliver the highest standard of competition in the region at the U-12 age group.
Valeo is dedicated to providing the very best learning environment for soccer and personal development for committed players that are passionate about the game. Participation in the RDL will complement VFC's membership in the USSDA Development Academy and give our most ambitious players a chance to test their ability versus premier competition. The scale and prestige of these competitions also means that our players will be regularly exposed to scouts from the national team.
"The fact that we can provide the top level of competition in the country to our players in house is a testament to the hard work that has gone into to building our club philosophy since VFC's foundation in 2008" says Valeo President/Founder Emelio Williams. "At the under twelve level the focus will always be on letting the players develop a love for the game and the Revolution Development League initiative will help advance this." For those players who will go on to feature for Valeo in the Development Academy, the RDL will be a barometer by which they can measure their performance.
The RDL is supported by US Club Soccer and structured to promote high-level localized competition, professional training, and game day experience from the leading clubs in the area, while simultaneously strengthening the connection between the region's clubs and the Revolution Youth Academy. Teams in the league will play between eight and ten games during both the fall and spring seasons. Included in this number are matches played versus members of MLS development leagues from other regions.
