[Kingston Jamaica, July 2, 2023] – Valeo Jamaica Futbol Club (VFC), non-profit soccer training organization, continues its mission of providing opportunities and access to ambitious student athletes, especially those hailing from economically disadvantaged areas. The Club recently embarked on an incredible journey as Valeo Jamaica, representing the organization, traveled to Portugal to compete in the prestigious Iber Cup from July 2nd to July 10th, 2023.
The Iber Cup, one of the most prestigious youth soccer tournaments in the world, attracted teams from all corners of the globe. Valeo Jamaica, proudly carrying the VFC banner, showcased their talent, dedication, and commitment on the international stage. The team participated in four exhilarating first-round matches, displaying their prowess and teamwork, which led them to the finals.
Though Valeo Jamaica fought valiantly and demonstrated their skills throughout the tournament, they narrowly missed securing the championship. Despite the final outcome, their remarkable journey serves as a testament to Valeo Futbol Club’s unwavering commitment to nurturing young, talented, and committed players from underprivileged backgrounds, offering them opportunities that would have otherwise been inaccessible.
Valeo Jamaica’s participation in the Iber Cup in Portugal is a significant part of the club’s broader commitment to cultural exchange and enrichment for its members.
